How can I tell if there is something wrong with my dog’s cornea?
koi-ness asked:
I have a French bulldog puppy and once or twice a day, he will start rubbing his head on the ground or the wall. It is always the same side. His eye doesn’t seem inflamed but I had another dog that did this and it turned out to be an ulcerated cornea. Does anyone know what the symptoms and solution for this problem are? He will be going to the vet in a week but the last time he was there, she said it was probably just minor allergies and nothing to be worried about.

take him to the vet he might just have an eye infection but either way you need to treat it.
If your puppy had an ulcerated cornea, you’d know it. They’re very painful and cause severe tearing, squinting and he’d be pawing at his eye. Most dogs try to avoid light. If your pupy has any of these symptoms, he needs to get to the vet right away, especially with a breed that is susceptible to eye problems and/or injuries.
Have you carefully examined his eye to see if he’s got something in it? You might want to try that. If it seems to be getting worse, you should give your vet a call and let her know.
