Every 15 mins after she drinks take her outside for about 20 min and she if she goes. In the house watch for signs like sniffing around and circling If she goes in the house make sure you punish her or she wont learn. For biting get her some hard chew toys. Show her your the boss.

shes too young to learn! You need to wait til she is at least 12 weeks to comprehend things!

Just get some puppy pads from wal-mart or a pet store, and put them where she would normally pee. If she starts to pee somewhere besides the pad, put her on the pad. It won’t take too long for her to get the idea.

You shouldn’t rub her nose in it. It’s not really good for her mental health. When she gets a little older, you can kennel train her.

you have to carry her her outside even when she is peeing…it might be really gross but it works….also when she is peeing outside(even if its when you carry her out there) praise her and say “good girl/boy” alot …. also if she bites you hit her on the snout …NOT THE BACK….bulldogs have bad hips….and say bad dog…it’ll work ive trained 3 golden retrievers

well take it out side alot and praise it or give it a treat when it “goes” and flick its noes if it dites they dont like that but puppys need to chew on stuff to grow thare teath so get it a chewy or something

Shane @ 3:23 pm #

a good way to train her is to put a bell hanging attached to the door handle and hit it with her nose every time you let her outside to use the bathroom or go to walk her, that way she will let you know by hitting it herself when she has to go after a while of this training…and she is probably just teething (her teeth are growing in) and she needs things to chew on to ease the pain of her teeth growing in, get her a few good chew toys and it should end in a few more weeks but until then she will bite on just about anything

i just got a beagle puppy and we Had the same problem, evrytime she pees just clean it up with paper towels and take the paper towels outside and let her sniff it so she knows thats where she needs to go….we take our puppy out right after she eats and takes a nap-hope this helped=)

get a chew toy that squeeks and tie a string on it and hang it on the door knob low enough for her to reach. for the time being everytime she messes in the house taker her to the door and squeek the toy with her nose and say outside then put her out there for a few min. took my dog a little under a week and now shes squeeking it herself. as for the biting and u can also use this for barking. find something that bugs her. for example a noise of some sort like maybe nails in a pop can. and when she bites or barks shake it. my dog doesnt like water so we use a water bottle and squirt her nose it works great. good luck

My dog is taught to pee on newspaper. You can buy a potty training spray at your local pet store. Or buy training pads.
hope i helped you! good luck with your puppy!

Okay for potty training you need to take her outside every hour x.x i know its a lot but puppies can only hold their bladder 1 + age in months hours. So being only 6 weeks she will only hold it for 2 hours max. Make sure you also praise her AFTER she has finished going outside. What I do with my puppy is give him half a puppy treat when he goes outside. and when you see them at the door go over and praise her for goign to the door. Make sure you take them to the same door everytime. When you see her bout to go or even in the middle startle her by sayign no and take her to tht same door outside and praise her when she goes outside (i dont give treats when he goes inside then out kinda defeats the purpose)
Now the chewing. Make sure you tlel them no and replace it with something they cna chew.

NEVER beat your puppy or flick them on the nose this hurts them! A simple no will do and they will learn. A dogs nose is extremely sensative. and beating them or spanking them cna cause aggresion and fear of you. I hope all this helps =)

you need to allow your puppy to go outside every few minutes. Once you have finished doing something with her you need to take her outside (ie. after she has ahd a meal, once you have payed with her, after she has slept), watch her and when she goes praise her. If she goes inside pick her up straight away and take her outside. She will learn. I have just got a puppy myself, we bought a doggy door and now she goes indide and outside herself. If she continues to make a mess inside you can begin to growl at her when she goes to the toilet but dont yell or hit her. To stop biting, just tell her off, and turn your back to her. she will learn that biting you isn’t a fun thing to do becasue she with be ignored. Hope this healps

I would reccomend getting a cage. Make sure there is plenty of extra space and place newspaper in it so the newspaper takes up half of the cage; symbolzing him bathroom. On the other half, put a soft towel or blanket to represent a bed. He will quickly learn the difference between bed and bathroom, to where eventually, you can leave a peice of newspaper out while your gone and he will automatically pee there. Works with every dog ive had.

But whenever your not supervising the dog, put him inside the cage so he wont make an accident. While supervising him, if he pees on the floor say no in a very stern voice and lock him in the cage. He will quickly distinguish the meaning of the word no and not to pee on your floor.

Since your dog is still awfully young, it is perfectly normal for him to be biting things. he is teething and such for atleast a few more weeks. Once the pup reaches around 16-24 weeks old, then start using your stern no voice each time the puppy tries to bite anything other than its toys.

Buy him chew toys.

hope this helps! if followed as told you will be extremly satisfied and impressed with your dog in the time span of a week or two.

This puppy is too young to be taken away from its mother and litter mates. Can you take her back to her mother for at least another two weeks. Bite inhibition is taught by mother and litter mates between 6 and 8 weeks of age.

She is a baby and has no more control over bowels and bladder than a human baby does. That’s why she pees everywhere. You should take her outside every hour on the hour and praise her if she happens to pee.

Did you get this pup from a back yard breeder or a pet store? An ethical breeder would never let a pup go at 6 weeks of age.
ADDED: Do not take the advice from people who tell you to smack the puppies nose or squirt the baby puppy with water. The people who advise those things don’t have a clue and I wish they would stop promoting the abuse of dogs.

Do not have water available at all times. That does not mean not to offer water. A puppy’s bladder is about the size of their paw. For every month they are old that is how many hours they can possibly hold it. After you offer them water take them outside. Praise them when they do good. Never hit your puppy if he has a accident just take him right outside. Remember dogs respond to tones they do not know english. Never use newspaper the ink and urine can cause respiratory problems for your animal.

Dogs work best on schedules. Some of the best times to take her out and create a schedule with are.. Taking her out when she wakes, before you go to bed, after a nap, after play, before you leave when you come home, 20-30mins after water and 30-40 min after eating. You also need to take her out how ever many months old she is in hours, so 4 months odl every 4 hours. You do this to help build up their bladder.

Always praise your dog for going where you want her to go. You can give physical praise like good girl, or you can also give treats. When she goes indoors ignore her, unless you catch her in the act. in this case make a random sound to get her to stop then take her outside right away. Praise her if she finishes outside. You don’t want to draw attention to going inside, even negative attention is still attention. It can confuse her into thinking that you want her to go inside. You want to walk around with her outside and not just stand in one spot and stay inside and watch her threw the window. Walking helps to stimulate her to go. It can also help b/c she may want to smell out a spot to go. The reason you want to go outside with her is b/c if you praise her when she gets to the door that is what you are praising her for, going to the door not for going outside.

Some people like to teach their dogs to ring a bell to tell them they have to go. To do this hang a bell by the front door at her level. Ring it every time you take her outside. Some people take their puppies paw and ring the bell.

Use a cleaner with enzymes in it to clean the areas she goes in when she goes inside. I fidn its easier to clean it with a regular cleaner than to use a enzyme cleaner to get the stain and smell out.

Don’t get discouraged. Most dogs are not fully house trained until they are 8-10months old. Its very normal for them to have accidents. You just need to be consistence and patience.

Check out veterinarypartner.com and aspca.org for more helpful potty training tips.

For biting

Time outs, if the puppy bites during play ignore them or leave the room for 30-60secs. Then come back and continue play. If they bite again you ignore again or leave the room. This teaches the puppy that play only continues if they play “nice”

Also give her ice cubes they help to numb the gums which are probably hurting her b/c she is teething

I would suggest buying the puppy training pads you can find in almost any store. Place them all over the area where you keep her. When ever you see her using a pad, praise her heavily. When she uses the floor, slap your hands together and tell her firmly “No!” and then place her on the pad. It will take awhile as puppies have short attention spans. Once she uses the pads regularly, remove all but one. Slowly start moving that one to the door. Then when you see her at the door, take her outside and praise her when she does her business. She will likely make the connection quickly but you will have to watch for her going to the door. I have trained three puppies this. Its slow but my dogs come to me now to tell me they are going to the door.

Your puppy is WAY TOO YOUNG to have been removed from its littermates and hasn;t even started its round of vaccinations… Apart from exposing your puppy to potential health risks, it’s quite obvious that this dog comes from a negligent and irresponsible backyard breeder… Any ethical and responsible breeder of these dogs would keep their puppies until they are at least 12 weeks of age and properly socialized around their littermates… And the time to learn how to potty-train the puppy would’ve been BEFORE buying the puppy! so that you would know your game plan ahead of time…

Your puppy is nipping and biting because it’s been removed from its littermates… It’s at a very crucial teething stage and should’ve stayed with her siblings until she learnt that biting hurts… The only way to teach the puppy now is to provide it with LOTS of chew toys, hooves especially come handy, and let your dog gnaw on them, correcting them and saying a loud “OW” when your dog nips you or bites on something it’s not supposed to chew one…

As for housebreaking, you’re going to have a disaster on your hand and it’s going to take a lot longer since you clearly lack experience around puppies… At 6 weeks, the puppy needs to be on a round-the-clock schedule of feeding, pottying, and napping, and should be in the care of the breeder that can devote the time to getting the puppy to be more manageable at the ideal age… Taking your dog outdoors can place them at risk for Giardia, Parvovirus, bacterial infections, Coccidia, tapeworms and a whole host of other problems… WHY would you EVER buy a puppy without doing the proper research about these dogs and their special needs? The breeder should be reported to the AKC or any other governing association that she probably doesn’t belong to anyway… Such negligence on both your parts!

There are numerous books on housebreaking, all essentially teaching the same thing… Frequent walks, praising the puppy or rewarding them for going outside, crating them or tethering them to your waist when you’re home, and feeding the puppy its daily ration apportioned into 3 consistently timed meals… Good luck – because you and your puppy are really going to need it.

i have a dachshund/boston terrier mix and was housebroke in i think 2 weeks. what i did is i would put him out right when he wakes up(even if it’s from a nap, no matter how short of nap) then about 10 minutes after he ate, i would put him out again, and leave him there until he goes, i would stay out with him though since he was only 2 months old. sometimes it took longer than other times, but after he went, i would praise him A LOT and give him a little treat, i would sometimes use a little piece of cheese, since dogs LOVE cheese. then about every couple hours or so i would take him out and again, stay with him until he goes, making him run around or play or something, that made him have to go more. while he is going potty, i’d tell him go potty, then say GOOD BOY! that way, if i say lets go potty, he’ll go runnin outside and go potty. i would just do that every day until eventually he got the hang of it and started to sit at the door and stare at me until i let him out, then i would give him a treat for sitting at the door, letting me know he needed out. if my dog had an accident, i would say no, then put him out for about 10-15 minutes(by himself cause he’s in trouble, just keep an eye on him if the yard isn’t fenced in). even if he was done goin potty, i’d still put him out. well, hope my info helped! just be sure to give LOADS of praise when she relieves herself outside!

as for the biting, she’s just a pup and that’s what she’s going to do. give her some chew toys and when she bites you, move her away and give her the toy. don’t move away from her, cause that means she’s the leader and you’re the follower(only followers move away, never the leaders) be patient, she’ll learn that you’re not her chew toy! have fun with her!!
