How much do I feed a French Bulldog Puppy?
First b asked:
Bringing home a french budlldog 16 weeks old currently 7lbs currently. How many cups and how often of kibble do I feed him? Will use Wellness Puppy Supermix 5. Or should i used Canidae? Protein is high in the Canidae and was wondering should i wait until adult for canidae? Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks.

feed him what he is already eating, if you change his diet he could have stomach problems and could be messy.
Both wellness and canidae are good diets-the should have feeding directions on the packages. Every diet is different. However, because he or she is a puppy right now you don’t really need to worry about over feeding—they eat a lot and will grow and gain weight quickly…if the package doesnt have directions try going to the manufacturers website. As far as picking which diet is better, they are both good diets but what will be the deciding factor is what your pet does better on. Some dogs don’t do well on certain diets. So pick one, try it and just watch to make sure your puppy’s coat is shinny, skin is good and they are growing and gaining weight. As far as whatever food they were on before-it is not always the best food for them-sometimes breeders pick cheap foods so if you can pick up a bag of whatever the breeder was feeding and a bag of the new food and gradually ween the puppy to the new food that would be best. Otherwise when you switch foods expect some diarrhea for the first few days-but there shouldn’t be any vomiting and the puppy shouldn’t be lethargic. If so take it to a vet. If the diarrhea last more than a few days take is to a vet as well and test for parasites. Good Luck! Dont worry too much about the food-like I said whatever diet your puppy does well on is the good.
Feed him the amount listed on the bag for his age and weight. Fedd him twice a day and divide the daily amount in half- give half in the morning and half at night. Puppy food until he is a year old.
